Debbie Daltrey Senior Lecturer CPHT Sheffield hypnotherapy TrainingDebbie Daltrey
SFH Sup (Hyp), MAfSFH, CNHC (Reg).

Following a successful career that spanned 30 years in business-to-business software solution sales, Debbie finally decided to seek a second career path that added more value and purpose to her life.

The part of the job she had always enjoyed the best was the business consultancy element, having had a business of her own that she grew with her ex-husband from scratch in computer hardware and software, it is an area that Debbie has always been interested in. The management consultancy also offered satisfaction from the positive reward from the relationships with prospects and clients, and the feeling of a job well done when helping clients to find the right software solutions to solve business problems and help their businesses flourish.

So, she knew that the next career had to involve helping people somehow, with that sense of reward from personal connection, and something more, to be of real value to people on a personal level. Debbie had always been interested in psychology and completed NLP training in 2009 and was completely hooked by the way it can change perception in thinking. The first option was counselling, and Debbie started her counselling training part-time in 2012, but knew there was something else. Debbie came across hypnotherapy on the internet, whilst searching for future career options, and remembered how her experience of hypnotherapy in her late 20’s had helped enormously to get her confidence back at a difficult time of a marriage and business breakup.

Following research, Debbie decided that the Clifton Practice was the best choice, mainly because she liked the solution focused approach, and liked how many people seemed to be in practice after the training from her research on LinkedIn. She completed her training in 2014 in Manchester and has not looked back since!

Debbie now runs a full-time successful hypnotherapy practice from Timperley near Altrincham, and Manchester city centre. She continues to study client-centred counselling with brief interventions BA (Hons) at Lancaster University with a planned completion in 2019. Debbie started working with the Samaritans in 2016 as a volunteer listener, and is now trained as a mentor, to train other new recruits, as well as being Deputy Director of the recruitment and selection team at Stockport in Cheshire and offers her time as a volunteer counsellor for a few hours each week for Macmillan, and Anxiety UK.

Debbie is a trained supervisor for the Clifton Practice, helping to support supervisees and trainees in their solution focused hypnotherapy work. Debbie is delighted to be approved as a Senior Lecturer for the Sheffield branch of the Clifton Practice, and looks forward to helping others on their new career paths in hypnotherapy.

Jane Fox Senior Lecturer CPHT Sheffield hypnotherapy TrainingJane Fox

Jane worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for almost 30 years helping to bring new drugs to the market and, during that time, came to the conclusion that while medication was helpful and sometimes vital for many conditions, for other conditions the available treatments were inadequate and often had unwanted side-effects.  For example, conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress-related illnesses were on the increase despite the vast array of drugs available for prescription.

Jane first became interested in hypnotherapy quite a number of years ago when she worked as a Research Assistant for Prof Peter Whorwell at Withington Hospital, South Manchester and saw what an amazing therapeutic tool hypnotherapy could be. Prof Whorwell pioneered the use of hypnotherapy for patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and results produced by his research team led to hypnotherapy being accepted by NICE as an approved treatment for this condition.

In 2014, with the family grown up, Jane felt it was the right time to follow that interest and train to become a hypnotherapist herself. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy in particular appealed due to its basis in science and the focus on the way the brain can create new pathways to facilitate new ways of thinking. Research into neuroscience continues to support the theory behind the use of hypnotherapy as a way of changing the brain and moving clients forward in their lives.

Jane joined a course in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, run by the prestigious Clifton Practice in Manchester, and became qualified as a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist achieving the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma.  Jane now works from her home-based therapy room in Heaton Moor, Stockport and is passionate about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, taking a huge amount of satisfaction in helping her clients move towards their preferred future.

The Clifton Practice continues to follow all the recent research on neuroscience and provides exceptional courses for the Continuous Professional Development of graduates, which Jane regularly attends in order to keep abreast of the newest information. Jane has also qualified as a Solution Focused Supervisor, enabling her to take on other therapists for training, mentoring and support.

Jane is now an Assistant Lecturer on the same training course that she attended in Manchester and is currently also working towards the Advanced Practitioner Diploma.

Jane is delighted to have been given the opportunity to introduce a new Clifton Practice satellite training school in Sheffield, a city she lived in for several years before moving to Manchester. As a Senior Lecturer, together with fellow Manchester graduate Debbie Daltrey, she is excited to be bringing this training opportunity to a new group of potential Solution Focused Hypnotherapists in the South Yorkshire area.
